Abstract:
The problem of electromagnetic plane wave scattering from a single cavity or multiple cavities in a ground plane overfilled with chiral material is investigated. Applying the field equivalence theorem, the scattering domain is divided into two sub-regions: interior and exterior. The exterior equivalent model takes advantage of image theory to account for the presence of the ground plane and, hence, simplifies the algorithm. In the interior chiral medium, image theory is not used. A set of coupled integral equations are formulated and solved numerically by the Method of Moments. Computed results for the chiral and dielectric loaded cavities are in excellent agreement with the published data available.
