Abstract:
Creating human activity system models is an essential feature of Soft Systems Methodology. It is an area of the methodology that has received very little research attention and has remained static for the past fifteen years. This paper argues the need for further development of the modelling approach involved in Soft Systems Methodology, demonstrates that conventional models are based upon functional decomposition, and presents an alternative modelling approach called Decision-Variable Partitioning.
