Abstract:
The degradation of grape cultivation in Boyaoge Village is an interesting phenomenon that needs to be studied, considering that this area has great potential for urban agriculture development. This study aims to analyze the degradation of grape cultivation interest in the area through the perspective of architecture and the context of urban agriculture. In this analysis, social, economic, and spatial factors that contribute to the decline in grape cultivation interest will be examined in depth, with a particular focus on land limitations, inadequate infrastructure, and changes in urban space utilization patterns. The methods used in this study include field observations, interviews with local grape farmers, and spatial analysis using architectural software to evaluate the relationship between spatial planning and the sustainability of urban agriculture. The results of the study indicate that one of the main causes of the degradation of grape cultivation interest is the shift in land use from agriculture to settlements, as well as the lack of infrastructure support that supports city-based agriculture, such as efficient irrigation systems and market accessibility. In addition, non-agricultural-friendly spatial designs, including limited green open spaces and limited use of agricultural technology, further exacerbate this condition. As a recommendation, this study proposes the application of sustainable architectural designs, such as the application of vertical gardens and the use of communal spaces integrated with agricultural activities. This solution aims to increase public awareness and interest in the economic and ecological potential of grape cultivation, as well as promote agricultural sustainability in urban areas.
