Abstract:
This descriptive-comparative study assessed the extent of policy practice among principals, school personnel, learners, and child protection committees in public elementary schools in Negros Occidental. Further, it determined whether a significant difference existed according to school size. A validated and reliability-tested researcher-made survey instrument was administered to 238 randomly selected respondents. Descriptive analysis involved mean, standard deviation, frequency count, and percentage distribution, and comparative analysis utilized Mann-Whitney U test. Overall, the findings revealed a very great extent of policy practice among principals, school personnel, learners, and child protection committees across schools. However, while no significant differences were observed among school personnel, learners, and committees, a statistically significant variation among principals was found. Thus, addressing structural complexity and operational scale in mega schools requires strengthened stakeholder commitment, collective advocacy, and contextualized training to ensure consistent policy practice across diverse school settings.
