Ways to improve internal audit in enterprises in the digital economy

Abstract: In today’s rapidly evolving digital economy, enterprises face unprecedented challenges and opportunities. Withthe pervasive integration of technology into business processes, the role of internal audit has become increasingly crucialin ensuring effective risk management and regulatory compliance. This paper explores various strategies to enhanceinternal audit practices within enterprises operating in the digital landscape. Drawing upon a synthesis of existing literatureand empirical insights, this study identifies key areas where internal audit functions can be strengthened to betteradapt to the demands of the digital economy. Firstly, it underscores the importance of embracing advanced data analyticsand artificial intelligence tools to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
