Abstract:
Medical tourism has become one of the fastest-growing global industries, integrating healthcare and travelservices. This study provides an in-depth analysis of international standards and best practices governing medicaltourism. It evaluates healthcare quality benchmarks, patient safety regulations, ethical frameworks, and cross-borderlegal mechanisms that ensure accountability and trust. Using comparative and descriptive research methods, the paperanalyzes international accreditation systems such as ISO 9001, JCI, and HIPAA, highlighting their role in ensuringmedical quality and patient protection. Furthermore, it discusses emerging challenges such as legal liability, sustainability,and data security in cross-border care. The findings emphasize that global collaboration and harmonized regulatoryframeworks are essential for achieving ethical, safe, and sustainable medical tourism worldwide
