WTO ACCESSION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN UZBEKISTAN: LESSONS FROM VIETNAM AND KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract: The article explores the potential of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) as adriver of accelerated economic development. A comparative analysis is conducted on the experiences of Vietnam andKazakhstan, which joined the WTO at different times and faced similar challenges and transformations. Special attentionis given to export diversification strategies, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), institutional reforms,and the creation of favorable conditions for attracting investment. Based on the analysis, practical recommendations areproposed for Uzbekistan to minimize risks and maximize the benefits of integration into the global trading system
