Abstract: The digital economy has become one of the most important drivers of modern economic development,fundamentally transforming economic processes, business models, and social relations. This article examinesthe essence, characteristics, and development prospects of the digital economy, as well as the current stateof digital transformation in Uzbekistan. The study employs empirical observation, comparative analysis,statistical data assessment, and expert evaluation methods. The findings indicate that digital technologiesplay a significant role in stimulating economic growth, fostering innovation, increasing labor productivity, andenhancing competitiveness. The article also analyzes reforms implemented in Uzbekistan to develop informationand communication technologies, improve e-government services, expand digital infrastructure, and supportthe innovation ecosystem. Based on the research findings, recommendations are proposed to accelerate digitaltransformation and strengthen the country’s digital development potential
