Abstract: The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologieshas significantly transformed modern information systems across various sectors. This study aims to analyzethe role, applications, benefits, and challenges of AI and ML in contemporary information systems. Theresearch methodology is based on a systematic review of scientific literature, comparative analysis of existingAI applications, and evaluation of their effectiveness in business, healthcare, education, cybersecurity, andpublic administration. The results indicate that AI and ML contribute to improved decision-making, automation, operational efficiency, and predictive analytics. However, challenges related to data privacy, algorithmic bias, and ethical considerations remain significant barriers to wider adoption. The study concludes that successfulintegration of AI and ML technologies requires comprehensive data governance policies, advanced infrastructure, and continuous development of human competencies
