Abstract:
In this paper, we focus on student course satisfaction about student performance assessments and the extent of study activities in e-classroom. Our research is a case study of 24 courses on business and economics at a private higher education institution in Slovenia in 2016/2017. The study is based on decision-tree induction, a highly used algorithm in a variety of domains for knowledge discovery and pattern recognition (Barros et al., 2015). It provides insights into student satisfaction with study courses as well as the relationship between the student satisfaction, study performance and involvement in study activities. The result shows that students are more satisfied in case they get better grades and preferably pass an exam in their first trial. On the other hand, students seem to be less satisfied with the courses that demand a higher level of involvement in e-classroom and in case they have to take an exam several times to pass it.
