Abstract:
Awareness and knowledge about EU and EU related institutions, symbols, policies, etc. appear as extremely relevant to the EU not only today but in its nearest future as well. Education initiatives focusing on European contents may be treated as a critical element in the creation of informed and responsible EU citizens capable of active and successful social and economic behavior. In the study in which we used text analysis approach we collected 49 syllabuses of elementary school and check them for the keywords related to EU topics. In the second step of the analysis, we visualized the networks - which keywords appeared together in individual courses. The study represents a starting point for further research in the area of teaching and promoting EU related topics in Slovenian schools.
