Abstract: 2018 was a Year of Cankar that is why we decided to organise a culture marathon in our school. Since Cankar is a demanding classic, there is an additional consideration about how to present him to the pupils in the most pleasant way. I decided to have a drama-film workshop. For that purpose, a simple but meaningful work from Cankar had been chosen, a story Basket of dried pears. Student response and the number of children at the workshop were very high, which shows that pupils like to perform literature and enjoy themselves through identification with literary characters. Use of information and communication technologies for such purposes is especially attractive for young students. In total, twenty-eight pupils between the 6th and 9th grade cooperated at the workshop, which made our work difficult, especially regarding the time frame as well as the lack of space in our classroom, where the shooting took place. We had only four school hours available, because we also watched a theatre performance from an external guest. How the workshop looked like? At the beginning Cankar`s picture book was introduced to pupils so they got familiar with the story and we discussed about the content of the story. Furthermore, I projected them also a version of the book Basket of dried pears made by Tanja Komadina and Boštjan Gorenc Pižama with the title My life, which is one of the three books named Cankar in strip. After this the pupils were divided into 5 groups. Two groups received Cankar`s work in classic form while other three groups received a comic book version. They chose by themselves who is going to play which role or be a cameraman, costume designer etc. Stidents had completely free hands and they could change the text as they wanted. Finally, they filmed short movies which were edited and projected in the classroom.
