Abstract:
In this work we summarize some of the organizational forms of pre-school education in Slovenia and other European Union countries. We explore the work of different authors and their views on family life. One of important factors in everyday life is the role of kindergartens that are supporting working parents that are trying to balance family and professional life. Many parents are working flexible hours, which is usually inconvenient for coordination with kindergarten, since their working hours are often not adapted to the working hours of the parents. One possible solution is an onsite childcare that some organizations in Europe already provide. These are mainly banks, hospitals, public administration etc. As parents would like to spend more free time with their children and at the same time have an insight into their upbringing and education while at work. All this can present an important factor when taking a decision to open a successful onsite day- care. In order to get an in-depth understanding about the factors we connected with a branch (BSH) of a multinational company (Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group). There we conducted a survey that identified many important facts that need to be considered. For example, 60% of the respondents think that the price of the service should be the same as in public or private day-care. But the final decision is up to the organization and what makes it more competitive, agile and adaptable to the challenges of the future.
