Abstract: The paper attempts to approach the changes in the poultry production and analysis of the caracteristics of the integration system from the perspective of Transaction Cost Economics (TCE) in Itaberaí (GO). The methodology is based the literature and field research through of data collected. It was found that there were major changes in the global poultry production, with the development of new races, advances in biotechnology and the increase of poultry meat consumption, as well as changes in integration system, between producers-agroindustry (efficiency and stability in supply). In the field research, some the assumptions of TCE were observed, mainly the bounded rationality, the opportunism between agents, as well as, major uncertainty and the asset specificity (e.g. equipments, technology and poultry). However, the integrated activity requires high investment, in the situation that the producer has major sunk costs, at the same time, that the activity allows too the right complement and profitability, as there are other activities on the properties
