Abstract: The article describes the experience of the world cooperative movement, cooperative principles and features of their transformation. The history of consumer’s cooperative societies in the the world is analyzed. The negative factors constraining the development of consumer cooperatives in Ukraine are revealed. The strategic directions of modernization the ñonsumer ñooperatives in Ukraine are grounded.
