Abstract: The peculiarities of the prevailing behavioural/value features of Ukrainians, considering the increasing need for updating the transition to sustainable development, have been highlighted. Key behavioural barriers within the modern concepts of behavioural economics have been established and directions of their overcoming using international experience, i.e. through financial and motivational mechanisms of "Horizon 2020", to change Ukrainians' behavioural patterns of perception, introduction and implementation of sustainable development priorities have been justified.
