Abstract: Studies on the satisfaction and public confidence toward the quality of zakat distribution by the zakat institutions are essential nowadays. Indeed, the management of zakat distribution is important as well as the efficiency of zakat collection by the zakat institutions. Within 15 years operation, the Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) has done many strategies to ensure that the service provided is the best, especially in terms of zakat distribution. Therefore, the important role of zakat institutions in the society needs to be reviewed through the perceptions of the Muslim society. Hence, this study suggests several factors that need to be focused by the LZS management. Respondents in this study consist of the zakat recipients as well as the zakat payers from nine districts in Selangor. The study shows that the level of confidence towards the zakat institution is dependent on three main factors, namely the corporate image of LZS, zakat collection and zakat distribution. Some important implications of this study were also discussed to improve the level of confidence of society to pay zakat through the LZS.
