Abstract:
The aim of the present paper is to examine the economic policy encouraged by the second term of Carlos Andrés Pérez (1989-1993), from the philosophical perspective of Ortega y Gasset and Karl Popper that deals with the distinction between ideas and beliefs. It is a theoretical and methodological approach that allows analyzing the extent to which beliefs and ideas play an important role in justifying economic policies, in particular, between 1989 and 1993 in Venezuela.
