Abstract: In this study, it is proposed to know the consequences of the global financial crisis of the year 2008, resorting to a descriptive type methodology, using documentary sources related to the subject. This work presents an analysis of the Great Depression (1930) and some financial crises in Latin America. Similarly, this study compares the evolution of the 2008 financial crisis in the United States and some countries of the European Union (EU). Finally, it defines how the Chinese economy responded in the context of the first world financial crisis of the 21st century. As a result, each country responds to the crisis according to the specificities of its national economies.
