Abstract: This article proposes an analysis of the production dynamics applied to the steel industry in Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico and Venezuela during the period 1990-2019. The motivation arises from the possible bottlenecks that the steel industry could generate as a supplier of manufacturing inputs. To do this, Kaldor's laws were implemented using a panel-corrected standard errors model, allowing the growth of countries to be explained through multiple sectoral relationships. Initially, the stylized facts show new productive paradigms that contrast according to the measures implemented by governments. In fact, the results suggest that the steel industry explains the economic growth of the panel, generating possible positive stimuli for the rest of the economic activities.
