Abstract: Academic literature about RFID shows that this technology has being steadily used as a tool by firms in their efforts to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the last decade. But the fact is that as of today, there are still many differences in terms of the degree of success in implementing RFID technology in different business environments. The main objective of this paper consists on identifying those variables that influence its successfully implementation and handling, specifically in reducing inventory costs. To do so, we develop a case study of a fodder firm that has implemented in a very profitable way the RFID technology in its warehousing facilities.
