Abstract: The 2015 Report examines the functioning of the international monetary and financial system and assesses its capacity to support development in an increasingly integrated global economy. It reviews recent trends in growth, trade, finance and debt and evaluates the persistence of financial fragility and weak global demand following the international financial crisis. Particular attention is given to shortcomings in the international financial architecture, including volatility in capital flows, debt vulnerabilities and limitations in mechanisms for crisis prevention and resolution. The Report analyses proposals for reforming global financial governance and considers the implications for development financing and macroeconomic stability. It also examines options for strengthening international cooperation and expanding access to long-term finance. The analysis highlights policy measures aimed at creating a more stable, inclusive and development-oriented international financial system.
