Abstract: The 2021 Report examines the transition from economic recovery to long-term resilience in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyses global economic conditions, recovery patterns and the widening divergence between countries in access to finance, vaccines, technology and growth opportunities. Particular attention is given to the links between climate change, structural vulnerabilities and development prospects. The Report assesses the challenges of building resilience to environmental and economic shocks while maintaining progress towards inclusive growth and sustainable development. It evaluates adaptation strategies, structural transformation policies and international support mechanisms aimed at strengthening productive capacities and reducing vulnerability. The analysis highlights the importance of coordinated public investment, international cooperation and equitable access to resources in fostering resilient development pathways and reducing inequalities within and between countries.
