Abstract: The 2025 Report examines the interaction between trade, finance, technology and geopolitical change in a period of growing uncertainty for the global economy. It analyses emerging patterns of economic fragmentation, shifting trade relationships, evolving production networks and increased strategic competition among major economies. Particular attention is given to the implications of these developments for developing countries, including challenges related to market access, investment, financing conditions and technological upgrading. The Report evaluates how changes in international trade and financial systems are reshaping development opportunities and economic vulnerabilities. It also considers the implications of debt pressures, climate-related risks and changing international governance arrangements. The analysis identifies policy priorities for managing economic uncertainty, strengthening resilience and supporting inclusive development in a rapidly evolving global environment.
