Abstract: The 2023 Report examines how emerging green and frontier technologies can contribute to sustainable development and structural transformation in developing countries. It analyses technological opportunities associated with the transition to a low-carbon economy, including advances in renewable energy, electric mobility, green hydrogen, digital technologies and related innovation systems. Particular attention is given to the potential for developing countries to participate in rapidly growing green technology markets and build new productive capacities. The Report evaluates national strategies for technological upgrading and industrial diversification and considers the role of international cooperation in supporting technology transfer, financing and capability development. It also assesses countries’ readiness to benefit from technological change and identifies policy measures that can strengthen participation in emerging green industries and support sustainable development objectives.
