Abstract: The first volume in the World Investment Report series analyses the Triad (Japan, the European Community and the United States) in terms of foreign direct investment. - It looks at the role transnational corporations play in promoting regional economic integration around the three poles of the Triad, - describes the linkages between foreign direct investment and trade, technology and financial flows, and - highlights policy implications for developing countries and the international community.
