Abstract: The 2024 Report analyses global and regional trends in foreign direct investment and examines the role of investment facilitation and digital government in improving the contribution of investment to development. It reviews recent developments in national and international investment policies and evaluates measures aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, improving regulatory transparency and enhancing investor services. Particular attention is given to the use of digital technologies to streamline investment processes and strengthen institutional effectiveness. The Report assesses how investment facilitation reforms can influence investment attraction, business operations and sustainable development outcomes. It also considers the interaction between digital public services, investment governance and broader economic transformation. The analysis highlights policy options for improving the efficiency and inclusiveness of investment frameworks while supporting sustainable growth and development objectives.
