Abstract:
The paper deals with the problem of interregional food relations within logistics integrated distribution centres (LIDC) of agricultural products. It provides an analysis of imported agricultural products (vegetables, meat, dairy foods) and highlights the challenges faced by national agricultural producers when entering the agricultural market. The authors substantiate the necessity for establishing a logistics integrated distribution centre which includes a commodity exchange as the main element of the logistics system, determine the tasks and functions of a LIDC and present their own definition of a LIDC. In the article, the authors discuss the advantages of the proposed version of LIDC with an operational commodity exchange from the perspective of socio-economic efficiency, analyse interregional food relations using the case of the Ural Federal District and reveal the shortcomings of the existing methods for assessing their efficiency. The article proposes an improved methodological approach to assessing the efficiency of interregional food relations within LIDCs that allows for the coefficient of logistics efficiency of the LIDC zones and freight rates. This made it possible to track the expediency of moving a particular type of product through the sales channels of the LIDC network. The calculation of this indicator will increase the efficiency of implementation of management decisions affecting the development of the region’s economy.
