Abstract:
Prudent and efficient management of government public debt by setting its characteristics in terms of maturity, repayment schedule, currency allocation or exposure to interest rate risk is important both in terms of ensuring budgetary stability and sustainability due to government, and for ensuring a stable macroeconomic framework. The paper aims to analyze the structure of public debt in European Union countries to create a profile of them but also the analysis of external borrowing costs in order to formulate favorable recommendations for the management of public debt of our country.
