Abstract: In the first section of paper examined the structure and function of the institutional system of European Union (EU) institutions as the EU Council and European Parliament in the fight against disasters. The second part is devoted to research of the structure and functions of one of the main EU institutions in the fight against disasters the European Commission (CEU).
