Abstract:
The World Commission on Environment and Development WCED (Popularly known as the Brundtland Commission) 1987 defined sustainable developemt as “meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. As far as the role of library in education for sustainable development is concerned this can be interpreated to mean the continuous process of change in which the library resources and technological advancements are utilized for storage, retrieval and communication of information to satisfy the needs of the present as well as future generations.
