Abstract: Air services provide important economic and social benefits, but very little research has been done on the link between regional air transport and economic growth as measured by its gross domestic product(GDP). This study provides the first empirical evidence that there is a short-term and long-term causal link between regional aviation and economic growth. The author analyzed three airports in Bulgaria during the period 1995-2015.
