Abstract:
Decentralization is a characteristics of a modern and democratic state. The paper explores and presents the different meanings and views on decentralization. It also outlines the principles of centralization and de-concentration in contrast to decentralization as a principle of government. The paper is focused on the process of decentralization in Bulgaria, the types of de-centralization and the stages of its legal regulation.
