Abstract: In the long history of the Department of Accounting at the University of Economics – Varna, the works of Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences Geno Genov leave a bright mark. His scientific and educational publications sound relevant even today, as they concern issues regarding the automation of reporting and the role of accounting in the management of the enterprise. Professor Geno Genov has merit for the development of the lecturers in the Department of Accounting as its long-standing head. The purpose of this article is to outline the main directions in the scientific and educational and teaching activities of Professor Genov and to outline his contribution to the development of accounting science.
