AGRIBUSINESS AND RURAL AREAS - ECONOMY, INNOVATION AND GROWTH, 2025, issue 1, 48-60

Abstract: The report examines the impact of direct payments on the socio-economic development of rural areas in Bulgaria. It analyzes the perceptions of public administration and agricultural producers regarding the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, the state of the labor market, and the level of administrative support. The data reveal significant discrepancies between the two groups in their evaluation of the effectiveness of support mechanisms and access to information. While producers express higher expectations for development, they also report serious difficulties in communicating with the administration and navigating the application process for support.
