Abstract: One of the major problems in the development of the Bulgarian regions is the development of the socio-economic status. That is the focus in the conducted field study - detailing by municipalities information, in order to analyze the regional aspects of the Down Danube region. Regional strategies link the state, region, district and municipality to the environment, linking external opportunities and risks with internal resources and potential. The main aim of the report is to present the problems and challenges, which follows the municipalities from the Down Danube Region. The object of the research are 22 municipalities from seven regions in Bulgaria. It has used fundamental methods such as deduction, induction, analysis and synthesis, data analysis. Resultants of the research show that investments should directed to industry sector and the leading problems are demographic, high unemployment, age structure etc.
