Abstract: The original contribution of this study is the proposal of the EBS methodology and the conclusions of its calculation based onthe results of 13 largest banks in Poland in 2018. The most important of these are: ?global banks represent higher values of EBS than domestic ones,?banks with a dominant share of State capital have a lower level of EBS than private banks of a similar scale of activity, ?relationship between the scale of the bank and EBS and bank‘s standing and EBS cannot be established.
