Abstract:
E-commerce sales grow and change constantly. Most popular way for selling goods online is keeping an online shop, which is not such an easy task for the retailers and manufacturers in the era of repeatedly changing and evolving technologies. Thus, e-marketplace platforms come as an alternative way for selling goods online, and attract more and more supporters. Wide accessibility and popularity of the e-marketplace plat-forms are behind this research. The aim of this paper is to outline the theoretical back-ground and the classification of the e-marketplace platforms and thus showing not only the advantages, but challenges as well faced by e-commerce businesses using these plat-forms. Based on this then the article briefly reviews the companies using these platforms to sell their goods in Bulgaria and EU-28.
