Abstract: The water transport provides possibilities for transportation of mass and heavy cargo at a distance at low energy costs. The International stock exchange between countries members of the European Union and the rest of the world is done mainly with sea transport and the internal cargo transport is strongly encouraged from the European Union because of its good ecological characteristics. The current report reviews the development, structure and state of the road infrastructure on the territory of the regions of Bulgaria which border the river Danube and the Black Sea. The main goal of this elaboration is to distinguish the most significant problems of the relevant road infrastructure of the Bulgarian sea and river ports and to give guidelines or their overcoming.
