Abstract:
The population ageing in Bulgaria is often seen exclusively as a challenge, and the media and political space present the demographic processes as a crisis. The structural change of population has an impact on the present size and structure of the labour forcetowards its ageing and reduction in the future. The question is how to turn the population ageing from a challenge to a civilizational stage of prosperity. Digitalization and automation could be an essential part of the solution.
