Abstract: The complexity of the influences on the career development of the individual represents a significant challenge for the traditional prognostic models of career counseling. The purpose of this report is to raise awareness of a new approach to career decision-making: career chaos theory. The report examines the main features of this theory and the extent to which this new approach is more appropriate for today's world of work, promotes career adaptability, profession / vocation (outside work) and moral responsibility at work in the light of changes in the world of work. The report provides a theoretical overview of publications on the topic and of existing research proving the benefits of such an approach in career counseling.
