Abstract: The dynamic world is changing more and more dramatically under the influence of economic, social, demographic, political factors, some of which are predictable while others are unexpected and difficult to control. As a result of this very soon the currently existing Industry 4.0 related to digitalization and the mass usage of the new technologies into our daily life will be replaced by the next generation Industry 5.0, which puts the person again at the focus of the production process and is related to a new way of interaction between the individual and the machine. This transition will inevitably lead to the need for qualitatively new characteristics of human capital in order to be adequate to the new requirements and to be able to communicate with the artificial intelligence. This article presents the nature and specifics of Industry 5.0 and outlines the challenges that it poses to human capital to adapt to new jobs.
