Abstract: This paper explores the impact of sustainability reporting on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that are not publicly listed. It examines how voluntary sustainability disclosures can enhance these companies' transparency, stakeholder trust, and competitiveness. The paper highlights the potential benefits for SMEs, including improved access to financing, stronger customer relationships, and alignment with global sustainability goals. It also discusses challenges such as compliance costs and resource constraints, providing recommendations for maximizing the positive outcomes of sustainability reporting for SMEs.
