Abstract: The article discusses the importance of paying particular attention to the process of managing change – not only during the phase of diagnosing the need for change and planning the change initiative but also in its implementation and integrating change in the company’s routine processes. A brief theoretical review focuses on outlining the factors that influence a change initiative’s success or failure. Then, the presence/ absence of such factors and the extent to which they determine success are investigated in a case study. The influence of a multitude of factors, such as the presence of a clearly defined vision, communication quality, management’s commitment, and employee empowerment, as well as attitudes towards change and agile culture, is investigated. The main findings show that employee perceptions of communication clarity, organizational adaptability, and individual preparedness for change are most closely associated with perceived change outcomes. An additional conclusion has been reached that few factors can in themselves affect the result of the change, and management efforts should be directed towards providing a set of resources and influences which would ensure the successful implementation of each change initiative.
