Abstract: E-marketplaces have been in the market for more than three decades, and they are paving their way also in the construction industry of Europe. Given the fact that the functioning of e-marketplaces raises questions both in their business aspects, as well as in their technical aspects, and also that market reception depends practically on all features of the respective e-marketplace, a deeper understanding of the intrinsic perceived properties of the e-marketplaces is potentially of big importance for the amplification of their extension. The construction industry is among the number of industries where e-marketplaces can fit fairly well, although there still exist some reserves among the stakeholders. In our study, we develop a Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy to evaluate the perceptions of European managers about the usability of e-marketplaces in the construction industry.
