Mediation approaches in the leader's practice

Abstract: Mediation as a method and tool to help manage workplace relationships involves the use of specific communication skills by the manager or another person (employee or expert) to resolve disputes of various kinds within the organization. Using this author's working definition of the essence of workplace mediation, this publication comments on various aspects of mediation in the context of transforming the manager into a leader in contemporary business reality. The subject of the research is theoretical and practical cases reflecting the nature and specifics of mediation. Based on this, the potential for this to be a necessary skill in the practice of the manager-leader is analyzed. The goal of the development is to synthesize and systematize recommendations for the sustainable use of mediation in modern business organizations, including as a prerequisite for leadership.
