Abstract:
This study explores the critical role of innovative work behavior in mediating the effects of job crafting and work integrity on individual performance among professional village facilitators in Kediri Regency, Indonesia. The study aims to address the pressing need for enhanced performance in village facilitation, which is essential for improving rural development outcomes. Work-life balance is examined as a moderating variable to understand its potential influence on these relationships. This research uses complete enumeration sampling (census). Data were collected through offline surveys from 203 respondents and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings reveal that job crafting and work integrity significantly impact innovative work behavior, demonstrating their importance in fostering creative and adaptive work behaviors. However, these factors, including innovative work behavior, do not directly enhance individual performance. Furthermore, the mediating effect of innovative work behavior and the moderating effect of work-life balance were found to be insignificant. These results suggest that, while job crafting and work integrity contribute to behavioral innovation, other factors may be necessary to translate these into measurable performance outcomes. This study underscores the need to investigate alternative mediating and moderating variables that could better explain the dynamics of individual performance among village facilitators, thereby contributing to more effective rural development strategies.
