Abstract:
A sustainable development has become an important policy aim in many countries. This concept is recently fine-tuned towards clearly demarcated economic sectors, such as the transport sector. This article is about sustainable transport or mobility. A review is presented of various aspects that have been identified as important elements in creating a more sustainable transport system. The main focus is on environmental aspects, in relation to various dimensions of transport behavior (spatial, social, behavioral, technological and dynamic aspects), although also distributional and equity issues are sometimes touched upon.
