No 29, Global Poverty Monitoring Technical Note Series from The World Bank
Abstract:
This note introduces the 11th edition of the Global Database of Shared Prosperity (GDSP). Shared prosperity, defined as the growth in per capita household income or consumption of the poorest 40 percent of the population, is the World Bank’s second Twin Goal, alongside ending extreme poverty. The 11th edition of the GDSP revises the figures released in October 2022 with the latest data available for 78 of the world’s economies in 2019. This note describes the GDSP, documents the available data, and highlights the main differences with the 10th edition.
