Abstract: Die europäische Wirtschaft wurde heuer von der Verbesserung der Weltwirtschaft erfasst. Die hohe Dynamik der Exporte hatte eine kräftige Steigerung der Sachgüterproduktion zur Folge. In Österreich wie im Euro-Raum wird das Wachstum des BIP heuer real 1,9% erreichen. Im Jahr 2005 wird die Zunahme des Welthandels an Schwung verlieren, in Europa dürfte jedoch die Inlandsnachfrage stärker zum Wachstum beitragen. Die zuletzt stark steigenden Rohölpreise bilden jedoch ein Risiko für den weiteren Konjunkturverlauf.
